The city of Hamburg invests in a highly energy efficient exhibition building as part of the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. The project will be certified according the German Energy Efficiency Standard, "Passiv Haus" Standard, and also according LEED. The main target of the Hamburg Haus will be to provide a showcase for advanced German energy efficiency technologies and techniques.

The design and construction phases lasted nearly 12 months. The building was completed in April 2010. Bencer provided the entire project management services over all project phases.
